Today is the last Saturday in January and you'd be suprised at the weather. It's just perfect for golf - not a cloud in the sky, no wind and warm enough to not need a jacket. I've seen worse weather in June (unfortunately). That's life in Dornoch, on the 58th Parallel. There are worse places to live, for sure.
